The Monsters of Airth
The magic that was released from the catastrophe at Babile about 3000 years ago and from the Great War 1500 years ago started a process of enhanced evolution of the creatures of Airth. The creatures developed specialized traits for survive.
There are also rumors that several types of creatures where created by a great Wizard in his attempt to conquer the world.
Here are a few of the creatures in the known world.

Wolf Bat
With a wingspan of over 3 feet and an appetite for everything, wolf bats are feared across the countryside. They have both echo-location and keen eye sight making them alpha predators.
Crypt Rat
Crypt rats live in the darkness. They will naturally avoid sunlight. Their flexible bodies and tails allow them to travel anywhere.
Spotted Moon Snake
With a wingspan of over 3 feet and an appetite for everything, wolf bats are feared across the countryside. They have both echo-location and keen eye sight making them alpha predators.
Shadow Lynx
The glowing eyes of this stealthy big cat are the last sight of many night travelers. It prefers underground dens and will hunt in woodlands under the cover of darkness.
Ug
The ugs are a cross between the worst parts of great apes and feral wolves. They hunt in packs and will attack any creature on sight. Their profound stench has allowed many a Venturer to avoid a deadly confrontation.
Ug Female
Ug females are lighter color and will fight along the males. They give birth in the winter to a litter of 3-4 young who quickly learn to fend for themselves or perish. Ugs can eat solid food and keep up with the pack within weeks of birth.
New Discoveries
Gi Slugs
A new and dangerous form of slug has been recently discovered in caverns to the west. It seems to have a natural coating that can eat through solid rock and anything it touches.
Sabre-Toothed Liger
A great beast with long teeth a mane and stripes has been seen hunting in the forests. Hopefully a group of venturers will go and find out more.
